"When we had our children, our ideas changed somewhat. Thenceforward we lived only for them; they made all our happiness and we would never have found it save in them. In fact, nothing any longer cost us anything; the world was no longer a burden to us. As for me, my children were my great compensation, so that I wished to have many in order to bring them up for Heaven" -- Saint Zelie Martin, mother of St. Therese of Lisieux, canonized October 18, 2015 along with her husband St. Louis Martin.

11 Months

Who is Eleven Months old?!  Not my baby!!

I honestly don't have words.  This year, this child.  The past eleven months.  It's such a blur.  I hardly know where the days went.  And yet, here we are.  School is out.  We went to the pool yesterday for the first swim of the summer.  My baby can stand (for a little) on his own.  He's eating everything.  And he's teething like crazy.  He's even starting to talk!

So, we're one month away from the 4th of July.  I'm making plans.  They probably won't come to fruition, but I'm planning a huge celebration.  I'm lucky that fireworks are built in to the deal!

But--he's NOT a One-year-old yet!! No! He's still my baby!! Eleven months.  A perfect, chubby, brilliant, beautiful, doted-upon 9th child!

I'm savoring every moment with this little boy.

  1. How is this possible?!? I feel like he's still a newborn. This past year went by way too fast!
