"When we had our children, our ideas changed somewhat. Thenceforward we lived only for them; they made all our happiness and we would never have found it save in them. In fact, nothing any longer cost us anything; the world was no longer a burden to us. As for me, my children were my great compensation, so that I wished to have many in order to bring them up for Heaven" -- Saint Zelie Martin, mother of St. Therese of Lisieux, canonized October 18, 2015 along with her husband St. Louis Martin.

{Pretty, Happy, Funny, Real} Fallish

I'm not sure where the summer went (with Galadriel's tonsilectomy surgery and the relandscaping followed by/overlapping the schoolroom addition)...and now we've flown through September and are cruising through October!
{Pretty}

Somehow when I add seasonal decorations to my home it helps me to feel like I'm embracing the moment we are in and savoring it.  Something concrete to stand still and look pretty amidst the lively busyness of our days.

My sister gave me that candle (I'll have to get a more beautiful picture of it)--it smells like Thanksgiving and I love it!

(Here are a couple extra pictures I'm adding):

{Happy}

The weather has been absolutely idyllic lately!  I try to spend as much time outside as possible (without neglecting housework or home education)...today Eowyn and I played with our bunnies.  They are shedding--furiously--to the point that I'm rolling bunny hair off of my shirt and pulling it out of my childrens' mouths!  Not for the faint of heart.

I love hanging out by the hutches.  Gathering sticks and dandelion leaves for a the bunnies to nibble.  Some might think it odd, but it's totally my therapy.  C'mon--cuddling bunnies and hanging out with your baby?! No? Not your thing? Ok.

{Funny}

Guest teacher today!

{Real}

Sadly, no, this is not a school room "reveal"...that's coming soon (really!).  You wanna know the sad truth?  Our painter gave us an outrageous quote for the inside of the schoolroom.  So...we have to either paint it ourselves (which could be scary...we're really not very talented, my summa cum laude husband and I) or find someone else.  So, since this picture was taken I've launched into organizing and hanging things, deciding that I'll just use it until we figure out how to actually finish the room.

  1. Your 'guest" teacher is adorable!
    We are in the midst of a painting project and while our skills are adequate enough, keeping the little ones busy while we're at work is quite challenging.
    Love your fall decor!

    1. Good luck with your painting project! I just found out that we really need to paint the ceiling or we'll have damage due to condensation...so, I might just be forced to try my hand! In which case, I'll be looking for tips!:)

    1. Yea! Someone likes my bunnies! Thank you. I think they're super sweet animals, but the truth is, they are messy and go through tons of hay and food. I'm also getting nervous because we're going to have to bring them into our garage for the winter, which will be...messy. They are sweet, and the ones I have are extremely tame. But just to help you not be too envious, all pets a a bit of trouble.:) Thank you for visiting my blog and for leaving a comment!!
