Finally!  Summer is here!  Our first attempt at getting out the pool. Ah, the anticipation!

Judge me if you will, my children caught a chipmunk.  This is something of a common childhood activity for those of us who live in the Midwest.  There are tons of these guys everywhere, and they're pretty easy to catch.  

My kids named him, took pictures, and then released him into the woods.  

In the Southwest we do the same thing with skinks (oh yes we do)!

Gone Missing

I haven't posted much lately....

Let's see, we lost power and water on Aragorn's birthday.

We celebrated his 12th, golden, birthday.

for my Texas Rangers fan

We celebrated my niece's birthday the next day.  Arwen got sick and spent that day on the couch. The boys went to a baseball game, after playing one.

Bilbo got sick on the top bunk that night.  That wasn't the vomit incident referred to a couple of posts back.  That was Eowyn.

We potty trained Legolas.  Signed a contract for house work.  Discovered Galadriel needs her tonsils and adenoids out and tubes in her ears this summer.  Began swimming lessons.

And we transitioned Eowyn into her own room.

I'm sure there's more, but I can't remember.  (Or keep up.)  Wait: my in-laws are coming on Sunday!

And...we're still thinking about that little black puppy...not quite ready for its home yet...



but almost!!

This is "Bonnie" and she's the one we have reserved for us.  I am gearing myself up for the work that is a puppy in the home, but Aragorn is my #1 reason to agree to have her.  It's all sorts of wonderful to have your 12 year old son see her picture and smile and comment on her cute, "chubby legs".  Gimli was saying she'd bark and Aragorn defended: "no, she's not going to be like that: she's sweet!"

I love a boy with a warm spot in his heart for a little furry friend.    Nevertheless, I'm bracing myself for the reality that lies ahead.

Arwen is working on her photography again this spring.  The boon for me is I get to steal her pictures!

I have a new blog that I just love.  It's "Vine of Plenty".  I downloaded this free psalm printable from her blog, but I can't share it on instagram (as requested) since I don't have an account.   I thought I'd share it here and keep it up through the summer as the new psalms are added each week (I think??)  Check it out.

And a selfie of my little photographer.  I love it when she wears blue--it brings out her eyes. Pretty:).

I considered making "baseball season!" my "real"…because with four in baseball or softball, the schedule definitely means "keeping it real."  But when I see this:

(these are both Gimli, but Aragorn is also a powerhouse on the mound (if I do say so myself!:))

it makes me very happy.  I'm a proud Mama and I love to cheer for my kids.  Thank heavens I actually enjoy sports, playing and watching, or I'd be miserable!LOL  It's a long season, but I'm trying to focus on the positive;)

My funny is the segregation of my bunnies--boys with boys and girls with girls.  I am vigilant--vigilant I tell you--on what I call "purity patrol".    Having four rabbits is working for us, with Aragorn in charge of two (one double hutch) and Arwen in charge of two (the other double hutch), but I am not ready to add to the numbers!

Still keeping her busy as I work in the kitchen.  Busy busy busy. (The little stinker. If she's not on my hip she thinks the world is against her).
